Local Business Schema, With an Example
LocalBusiness schema is a short block of JSON-LD in a page's code that states the business's name, address, phone, website and opening hours in a form search engines read. The example below is a full block: change the details and copy yours.

Copy the cells, header row included, and paste here. Columns: name, street, city, state, zip, phone, url, hours. Tabs or commas both work.
Paste it into the page's <head>, then check it in Google's Rich Results Test.
What each part of the example means
The block opens with "@context": "https://schema.org", which names the vocabulary, and "@type": "LocalBusiness", which says what kind of thing is described. A more specific type, such as Dentist or Restaurant, is better when one fits; pick it in the Business type menu.
The address sits in its own PostalAddress object: 120 Main Street goes in streetAddress, Springfield in addressLocality, IL in addressRegion, 62701 in postalCode and US in addressCountry. The hours Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. become two OpeningHoursSpecification entries, one listing five days and one listing Saturday. Sunday is closed, so it is left out.
The map point, 39.79901 and -89.64402, goes in geo. Google's guide asks for at least five decimal places.

Questions
Is LocalBusiness schema the same as structured data?
LocalBusiness is one type of structured data. Structured data is the general name for code that describes a page's content; LocalBusiness is the type for a business with a physical location or a service area.
Do I write it as JSON-LD or microdata?
Google accepts both and recommends JSON-LD, because it sits in one script block instead of being woven through the page's HTML. This generator writes JSON-LD.
What is the difference between LocalBusiness and Organization?
LocalBusiness is a kind of Organization with a place people visit or an area it serves, so it adds an address, hours and a map point. A company with no customer-facing location uses Organization.
Does this schema need the exact details from my Google Business Profile?
Use the same name, address and phone your listing shows, written the same way, so search engines can match the two.
